Larnaca
Larnaca is a district situated in the south south east of the island of Cyprus. The district is named after the main town which is also the capital of the district - Larnaca. Larnaca covers an area of 436 km. Much of the western part of the Larnaca district are covered by the Troodos Mountains rising to 1400 Metres high.
The northern part of the Larnaca district lies in the Mesaoria Plain which includes areas of woodland in which Eucalyptus grows wild as does Cypress and Acacia and other exotic plants and trees. Local production in the district includes cereals, vegetables and nuts. Industrially obtained produce includes wood for furniture and paper.
Larnaca International Airport is the main airport in Cyprus. The comprehensive road network including motorways with direct access to the airport and the other regions of Cyprus make Larnaca a popular choice in terms of accessibility. The larnaca region may house many of the islands archaeological sites but the town of Larnaca itself is a delicate blend of historic Cyprus and modern life, with a countless choice of bars and restaurants.
