Birthplace of Aphrodite, the goddess of love, the island of Cyprus is situated at the crossroads of East and West. Cyprus Economy and Social System

Cyprus enjoys a prospering economy and as a member of the EU provides increased political and economic stability. Cyprus Investment The currency is that of the Euro which Cyprus adopted in 2008. The combination of a maturing property market and a generous taxation structure makes property investment in Cyprus an ever increasing choice to foreign property buyers and in particular British buyers. British buyers are attracted to Cyprus primarily for the sun and the relaxed, stress-free lifestyle but also because of the warm relations between Britain and Cyprus, the English language is widespread on the island and is generally considered the second language after Greek.

The Cyprus schooling system is a well-developed system of primary and secondary education and the excellent levels of quality attained by students is a reflection of the higher than average competence of teachers both in public and private education establishments. Medical treatment in Cyprus is of a high standard and the cost of treatment in national hospitals is very low. A range of specialists, doctors and surgeons also practice privately on the island and a number of companies offer a range of medical insurance schemes.
